Arts and Culture

Kent and Kent State University have a rich art legacy. Although we have terrific galleries that are located on Main Street, they are anything but mainstream.

Art runs deep in Kent’s DNA; both formally, with art degrees and arts education programs like the Artist Entrepreneurship Institute and professional galleries like Standing Rock and McKay Bricker, and informally, with Indie artists found around town sharing their talents in unexpected places.

The arts bring out the best of those "only-in-Kent" moments. From the 10th Annual National Ceramic Cup juried art exhibition, to the Farmer’s Market Mural, to the projection art displayed on the top of the Star of the West grain tower, Kent art surprises and defies convention - as art does best.
