Emergency Preparedness

The City of Kent and Portage County Emergency Management Agency work closely together to develop and rehearse plans in the event of emergencies. The City has special operations rescue teams who work with other safety forces agencies in Portage County. The Police, Fire, Health and Service Departments all work together on plans to keep our residents and visitors cared for when disaster or catastrophe hits.

The Kent Fire Department has partnered with University Hospitals to provide residents with a smart phone app, PulsePoint Rescue. This app has been effective in increasing survival rates for those in cardiac arrest.
