Fire Prevention

The Fire Prevention Bureau, which is staffed by Lieutenants Greg Miller and Rob Jacob is open Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Bureau oversees fire inspections, fire prevention education including juvenile and adult fire safety education, fire extinguisher training, and emergency planning for businesses. The Bureau is also in charge of plan review and acceptance testing for all new buildings in the City.

Through a cooperative effort to streamline services, the City of Kent Fire Prevention Bureau is also home to the Franklin Township Fire Inspector Richard Smith. This allows for a coordinated approach to Fire Prevention between the City of Kent and Franklin Township.
