Food Safety

The mission of the Kent City Health Department Food Safety Program is to protect and improve the health of consumers by assuring foods are safe and are not adulterated, misbranded, or falsely advertised.

The Food Service Program involves the licensing and inspection of restaurants, taverns, food vending machines, convenience stores, and temporary food events to verify compliance with sanitary standards set forth by the State of Ohio ensuring safe and wholesome foods for the consumer.

FOOD SAFETY TRAINING & CERTIFICATION

Food safety training and testing is available to licensed food services or to whomever is interested. For further information, please call 330-678-8109, ext. 5208 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
