The application process for all positions start with the City of Kent application for employment (aka Civil Service Application).
The Lateral Transfer Police Officer application also involves the following steps (not necessarily in this order):
- Completion of comprehensive background packet
- Panel interview
- Physical fitness testing using a single standard
- Computerized Voice Stress Analysis (truth verification interview)
- Background investigation
- Interview with Chief of Police
- Psychological examination
- Medical examination (only after conditional offer of employment)
- Formal offer of employment (if all other conditions successfully met)
